According to the Hong Kong national security law, the Committee for the maintenance of national security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) under the chairmanship of the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) is responsible for the maintenance of national security affairs in the HKSAR and bears the primary responsibility for the maintenance of national security.
